Poster for Marked Bills
One of the early missions should give you a 'guide to bill markings' poster (or maybe it just is on the wall of one of the unlocked areas?) So that we can clearly see which are gang markings, vs police bribe, vs government, vs counterfeit. Just an in game reference :)

And if there's a desire to not expose the player to different types of markings until the plot has progressed (e.g. the phone photos), then have the poster start blank with "unknown marking type" until the text is received, and fill in the poster at that point! -
