GThis is the main thing killing the fun in this game. Easiest and quickest fix would be to boot out marked bills through the xl counter the same way counterfeit bills are. Longer term maybe a separate machine that is specifically for this purpose.

BearIt's 100% needed at this point. If sorting out marked bills was an optional thing, I feel like it would be nice to have rather than needed. However, seeing as some of the main story require lots of marked bills, it's needed.
Either something that attatches to the table that just sorts any marked bills out or a sorting machine that does it would be great. I don't know if its best to have a machine that does the currency, counterfit AND marked or something thats stand alone. -

SweetyHushI agree completely. Multiple times, I have found myself just tossing aside large quantities of bills simply because they were possibly marked or ink stained. The workbench is a great help to the process but it simply doesn't reduce the tedium of the tasks I would love a machine or system to work through tedious tasks like this even if slowly in the background so I can focus on the joy of the sort without feeling as if I'm losing out on a chunk of my available resources simply due to finding part of the process unfun.

KnofbathHow about a new machine to extract marked bills and reject unmarked bills? That would allow easier missions with specific marked bills, while still not trivializing the gameplay system.
-

nathanwNot having some sort of automation making this go by faster is quickly sucking the fun out of the game.
I'm standing there for in-game days just sorting by hand multiple pallets of money.
I really fell asleep while playing the game because of how boring sorting cash was!
Is this a factory game, or is this a bill sorting game?
I don't care if the machine breaks down, or is slow, so there's some challenge too. -
12 May, '25
DoxThis is very much needed as others had said!
sorting them manually works at first, but it is very tedious to do so at large quantities!
a machine to sort specifically marked bills would be nice, with a adequate price tag and/or required reputation to not make it too easy.
I barely use the workbench myself cause it's very boring to do so. -

stann_coI think just adding a machine that does it for you could risk making it too easy, but i agree it has to be better.
Maybe sifting through cash on the workbench could be improved. when you drop a pile on the bench it's so cluttered that you can't see all marked bills immediately. Maybe if they were more spread out. Or there was a better way to funnel through only 50 bills at a time spread out. So you don't have to manually leave and enter the bench over and over again. -

Lordmau5I toyed around with what the machine could do / require.
Perhaps you'd have to "train" it on a specific mark / bill for a certain duration, say 10 minutes.
So you'd train it on an X-marked $10 bill - once it's trained it will sort that to the right side and any other bill to the left.
This would also mean if you'd want to sort an X-marked $20 bill you'd need to train it as well.
Maybe limit it to 5 possible learned slots per machine or similar.
Making it easier but also not too easy and still something you have to work towards, so to say. -

TecroachI think will will be nice to have this but if they just put in a sorter that just removed all marked bills then it will be too easy, butt lets say it have two settings.
Fast and slow the fast try to sort marked bill at the same speed the other sorters go at but have a % to mix marked bills with the unmarked.
while slow have even lower % of mixing in marked bills with unmarked bills or even not even mix them in the first place, that the devs can poke at.
And MAYBE third setting that only sort out what type of marked bill you wanted from the other marked bills, and make new mission type that need this type of marked bills over the others marked bills -
12 May, '25
RTGPlease not. That would entirely defeat the purpose of marked bills in the first place. Now, a way to more evenly spread them out to manually sort them would be nice though. As would be a placeable dark room or such.

Jaytin66I have couple Ideas. An apparatus in the workbench that holds a stack of bills up so you can see the bill and you can left and right click respectably to move the bill left and right in the holder, or give the money gun a preview of the next bill so you can aim it at a certain pallet, you can have two modes full auto and single shot. with that also add a toolbelt that holds knife and gun and maybe the wraps in addition to the inventory slots

MosyI had an idea for a machine that would make it less painful without making it too easy. It's a machine where you can put in a "reference bill" with a specific type of marking (that you have found the old fashioned way), and a place to put large stacks like the normal counters. The machine will separate out all bills whit that type of marking, and all other bills, regardless of currency or denomination.

BonesAs other people have said, I think having it be as easy as counterfeits are with the better money sorters are would be too easy. I think there could be a two step process that would be nice
1. A way to identify if there are marked bills in stack and/or pack.
2. A tool to quickly manually look through a stack of bills and pull out the marked ones.
If it was something I'd want to design, my first thought would be a machine that takes a stack (or pack) of bills and determines if any bills in the stack contain a marked bill (in my mind, basically like a xray machine that 'triggers' if the xray bounces off a marked bills unexpected ink).
From there, it out puts the bills, and you can work with them further.
For actually removing the marked bills, making the workbench automatically spread bills out would be a pretty simple (gameplay wise) change that would make it much better to use. -

p75369I'm fine with manually sorting, but it does need a bit of fine tuning for my taste:
1) darkness, need a dark room or even just curtains for the roof.
2) a means to quickly determine if there's any marked bills in the stack -

NoruI have a different approach for this: work table auto arrange carried bills same way as on pallets. Click to move bills to bin1, other key puts all visible bill to bin2. This way we click on marked bills and when none left, remove top layer of bills and continue until no bill left. Same mechanic can be applied to inked bills, just leftcick cleans, other button removes cleaned bills.

Matt27The pile of 8k bills I have to check every single note manually is extremely tedious. Like the time it takes me to sort the bills after is one-fifth of the time it takes me to go through them to find all the marked bills, at this point, is most of the game, as even a single one of those removes the bonus
-
14 May, '25
DozenI'd rather leave sorting marked bills still as a challenge but maybe tinkering with it's occurrence probability will do, or extra gameplay layer? Even if it's tedious as for now I in some degree like doing this manually because I feel like other approach would make it just too easy.

Royalty MergedI think a conveyer belt with a UV light above would be nice. One end is a feeder for bills, other end is a catcher for missed ones. Watch for bills, pick them up, bins to place them in. Repeat until separated. It would allow for automation and still leave room for interaction. Bonus would be if you had a dark room attachment so we could do it any time of day. Even a shipping container like "shell" with a door would suffice.

Victor Mergedjust another machine that sorts marked bills just into a single pile and filters all real money out as if it was counterfeit
-

Thorgrim Merged10k crypto sorter for filtering marked bills, 1 for each currency type. My OCD needs this :)

Calix KaijaI was thinking maybe implement an upgrading system for the cash sorting mechines that you can buy to improve sorting the gang marked bills and the FDI bills.
-
14 May, '25
Fuzzy_KnightAdding the ability for a machine to spit out marked bills from the side, much like counterfeit bills would be great. Then we can still manually sort them for the different marks.
That's all it would take to relieve the instant dread I feel when several boxes full of mixed marked bills drops. -
14 May, '25
FluffyBiscuitI literally have pallets of marked bills cast aside "for when I feel like it" or "when its dark enough". I would really enjoy a conveyor belt where you could stand and just pick out marked bills before they go to the sorter. OR when a stack is wrapped give each stack with a marked bill in it an auto marked bill on top so you know that stack needs checking.
-

NebthtetEither an additional machine for sorting these out or purchasable addon. Or a quest reward. Nevermind how it would be obtained - please add such a functionality. As it is - I avoid marked bills quests.
-
14 May, '25
AvgTriniHow about adding buttons to enable or disable the counterfeit detection as well as marked notes detection to the money counters (large and XXL). This way its the same asset in use but more functionality and can allow players to easily get marked or counterfeit notes as needed.

JI dont think any sorting device is required, but I would love if the UV light would make a signal if there is one in the pile/nearby. and then If you want to search for it, you can! Just knowing that theres nothing to search for would be blessing, and that you dont need night time to see them >.<
Inked/marked/fake bills have so small penalty to mission results that its casual friendly, but if you want to search you are free to do so. I like it, I just dont like how hard the search is IF you want to find them because the moon has to aling for the right light :D -
14 May, '25
CatI would like to add that a way of sorting marked bills would help players who are colour blind and can't see the red marks....
-
14 May, '25
PunishedBastichMachine that can sort them depending on what type of marking is on the bill (if i remember correctly, there are 6 different types of markings) is desperately needed at this point, but it needs to support all currencies.
-
15 May, '25
LeonixI totally agree! I bought the game just after release, I'm enjoying it very much, but I've got to the stage with the marked money and after half an hour of manual sorting I've saved the game and turned it off, and I'm not going to turn it on until I can buy a machine that does sort it automatically...
-
15 May, '25
LunaticNekoI think a CLEAR detector (that is deterministic, always works, and not dependent on light level) is more important than a sorter. But I think that idea about "training" is cool -- kinda fits the current machine learning / AI vibes.

BigKountryPlease for the love of god, Add a new bill sorter that has a UV light that automatically kicks out marked bills like counterfeits.

jony Aime L'argentTraduction en anglais (faite par ChatGPT) :
Hello, this is an idea I would like to propose. You can't create a machine that detects marked bills, but through blue quests, for example, which require 1000 marked bills from the police, unlocking machines with features that detect bills with police marks. Then, other machines, like the one that sorts the 3 gang brands, where the last one asks for 10,000 of each brand, ejecting the police to the left, the gangs behind, and the FDI to the right. With brand selection via buttons on each side and in front, the types of currency: the dollar, euro, and yen. -

Archatheus100 percent this should have been in the game on release. When I played the demo my first thought was 'oh this will def be included in the main game on release'. And then, when the game was released 'oh this will be some sort of option on the XXL cash counter'. Yah, well we all know how that went.

Karl SmithEven if we can't get a machine, even a room that you can more consistently get dark would be appreciated. Sorting a stack of 100 bills with a black light on a table is much faster than using the workbench, but to often the sun comes out and I have to wait until night to go back to sorting.

KyberVT MergedBasically as the title implies, manually sorting through marked bills is incredibly tedious and very time consuming, especially when you have hundreds of thousands in various bills needing to get sorted out.

DreamingHeroI agree, i would like to have a system to sort them out. I would also like it if there was upgrades that helped you not only sort out the marked bills, but also find the collectibles, maybe it is a super expensive upgrade to make it worthwhile. So far you just need to be lucky and use the scanner to find the collectibles but still it would help! I personally would also love it if you could automate things with conveyor belts and stuff! It would be fun to build your own facility

JediParagonI think instead of throwing marked bills into a lump pile with counterfeit, the XXL sorter could spit them out behind it. And down the road add a sorter specifically to sort the marked bills by the different marks, currency, and amounts.

JohnI like the idea of having a machine that can automatically filter out marked bills, but can only filter out one specific mark (out of 5) at a time.
You could approach this many ways with this machine:
- Put the money pile through the machine 5 times. Advantage - easy, disadvantage - very time consuming.
- Make a chain of 5 machines so each machine filters it out in a line. Advantage - simple, disadvantage - prohibitavely expensive.
- Use the UV light to discover what sort of marks are in a particular stack and then filter out the one or two mark types out of that stack. Advantage - smart way of doing things, can save time, utilises already present mechanics to facilitate process and prevent redundancy. Disadvantages - requires other tools and careful handling to not mix money piles together (as shipments only contain one or two marks, mixing every shipment in a big pile - more effort)
I'm partial to 3, but this gives many methods and prevents other ways from being redundant. -

NothingANadaI think a single machine that costs the same as the sorter XXL unlocks at 20 but it only scans for signs of marks and then sorts them via marked or unmarked, doesn't care the marking or type just the marking ink. Then you can use a method to separate the different marked notes. It would help with the idea of chaining sorters together to make a flow of cash into neat piles to be packed.

JaregonI concur. I sat and manualy did a stack of 3k bills to sort out marked bills. but I have refused to sort out marked bills after that.
I would love to sort them by note and type. but I can't be bothered to sift them out of my cash piles. Something to ease the burden would be nice. -

Bob Mergedcurrently, marked bills are very frustrating and I am at a standstill with a mission to get 8000 'gang marked' bills. For one, we need a reference to what the different signs mean. It was incredibly frustrating to gather 80 $100 bills, sorting manually through hundreds and hundreds, only to later realise that the 'eyeball symbol' did not count. But no one told me this, and the game didn't tell me this, so that's really, REALLY frustrating. Secondly, the lighting in the game makes it nearly impossible to do anything during the daytime. The symbols BARELY show, and even with the workbench it's so faint that I can't really tell. The large tower is also absolutely useless to make it really glow. I'm not against manual sorting, but at the moment it's more tedious than fun. May I suggest being able to have a DARK ROOM in the base? A place where we can bring ALL our money into and we can set up lamps in there to make the symbols REALLY clear.

jmpreissHaving an XL cash machine that rejects only marked bills like counterfeit bills would be all that is needed. Don't have it sort or even identify the mark; just have it eject it out the side. This will leave people having to sort through marked bills by hand to keep that part of the game in when quests require certain marked bills. It would require multiple machines because you'd have to do a counterfeit scan first, so it needs progression to get the other machine.
It can also be explained as only being able to detect the bill is marked (but not tell what kind) just like how the current machines can detect if something is a counterfeit.
